They are situations of pain, discomfort or tension of some type of injury in the anatomical structure of the body.

They are injuries that affect the soft tissues of the loco-motor system of the bones, ligaments, muscles, tendons, nerves and joints and blood vessels. These lesions can appear in any body region although they are more frequently located in:

The different musculoskeletal alterations have many names, for example: tenosynovitis, tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, epicondylitis, bursitis, herniated discs, contractures, low back pain, cervical pain, etc ... Here, to refer to the entire range of these injuries, we use the expression musculoskeletal injury.

These cannot always be identified clinically, since the symptom is pain and this is a subjective sensation and often represents the only manifestation. Many times it is the working conditions that cause a large number of them, mainly postures, efforts, manual handling of loads, etc ... Symptoms usually manifest as:

  • Pain in muscles or joints, feeling of tingling in the arm or hand.

  • Loss of strength and grip in the hand.

  • Loss of sensation and tingling.

The causes are multi-factorial. The difference between muscle fatigue and musculoskeletal alterations is that they are often confused, muscle fatigue is related to the intensity and duration of work, it causes pain, its symptoms are nonspecific and temporary, it appears and disappears. Musculoskeletal disorders are progressive and the symptoms are different, they worsen according to the different stages:
